"Snowflakes as big as dinner plates"
ME:

Incredible snowfall coming down at the moment. Very beautiful. Got some pics and video. This was the snow of my childhood dreams. Now, as it sticks and piles up, I remember it being the nightmares of driving through the snow-belt off Lake Erie.

But it is beautiful!

Saw a documentary on Spalding Grey last night, went to a reading of Wild Mercies (environment studies writings/readings), attended the Spanish Circle. Wednesday evening was ...men's basketball game (lame, UM easily won), Socrates Club...

Plenty to do in this old town in February! Will attend 5 or 6 film events at the Big Sky Documentary Filmfest this weekend (the beatniks, William S Burroughs, Margaret Atwood, Sheryl Noethe). Since I don't have television I feel I can indulge myself. *Smile*

The Senior Center Lunch dilemma may be slowly resolving itself. They really need someone in charge who knows what they're doing. A bit dis-organized and I expressed my un-happiness today.

In good news: took a lot of photos of snow I put up on FB.

Bad news? The insanity of what is transpiring in Wisconsin, Wyoming, Montana, Indiana ...elsewhere. Folks have looked with awe at the upheaval in the Middle East. They need to not forget that upheaval can also happen at home. The public is very unhappy and the thin layer of civility has been strained and torn. The uprising in Wisconsin may be a forgettable moment in history or a harbinger of more unrest to come. The economic situation only feeds into it. Those-who-easily-forget should remember Alabama/Mississippi in the 1960s ...or read up about it. As I said ...everything could be resolved peaceably... but it wasn't in the South until after the federal government intervened. Could get nasty.
