Is Technology addictive?
Jalál (Glory), 10 Rahmat (Mercy), 167 BE – Saturday, July 3, 2010 about 3:35 PM Pacific Time

On Memorial Day I bought a cell phone. It isn't an expensive cell phone, but I don't know how I got along without it all these years. I keep the cell phone by my computer and even take it to bed with me at night. I put it on the nightstand when I go to sleep. I carry it with me everywhere and I've started to wonder if technology is addictive.

I'm 63 going on 64, cell phones didn't exist when I was born and computers were in their infancy. I didn't use a computer for the first thirty-five or forty years of my life. Today, I couldn't live without it. I use the computer for everything I can, including banking. I suspect that I will soon use my phone for banking as well. I know I will be accessing the Internet.

The question "Is technology addictive?" I'm not sure I can answer this right now. I know that technology makes something easier and other thing harder. Perhaps I should go one or two days without using my computer or my cell phone before answering that question.
