Entry from April 25th 2006: "Rose-day and 'Skunk hour'

I have my camera. After a fish burrito, I was crossing Broadway at Higgins, when someone honked at me. It was Mark waving my camera. He found it when he tried to put on the emergency brake. *Shock* Oops, dere it was.

I celebrated with a Thai coffee at Liquid Planet.

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." Will Durant, quoted in Apocalypto. Chris White and I sat at Butterfly Herbs and talked about the culture of fear. When Derek sat down we also talked about prejudice and different world views (Utahn, Salish, Crow). The question of what to do once one's reputation has been destroyed came up also. Chris' strategy was to stay and prove them wrong; mine was to leave and start over. Both are difficult.

Montana: trying to shine ... a chilly 30 degree morning.

strapless shells clasp breasts
like barmaid barnacles scraped from ghost ships
