Bodhráns and hyacinths. Tales told over scones and hot tea
Bodhráns and hyacinths. A bodhran is a celtic hand drum. The tone is changed by the hand inside the drum. The rim is played as well. Tonight is first Friday and the bodhrán will assuredly show up at the Celtic Connection as Michelle, the proprietor, plays it.

Guido Plüschke gives an incredible display of talent as good as any drum solo in any concert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZKvaqAOoNI&playnext_from=PL&feature=PlayList&p=D...

Puro from Asturias, Spain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-npOHIkfEWg&feature=PlayList&p=D656AAE65F229AF5&i...

Hyacinths are fragrant spring flowers. In the Bahá'í scripture the flower is symbolic of knowledge. I don't know Japanese, but the melody and visuals of Aya Matsuura's song "Hyacinth" is worth watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9nmNCXdQCA

Tales told over scones and hot tea

         for Michelle

Raven locks lilt to flute and fiddle.
Head tilts to a bodhrán's beat,
What's seen if not green beyond green
and the azure where sleek as an otter
she swims through your dream,
and flings drops unaware,
that you gasp:
at her glistening rainbows,
her hyacinth scent in the air.

I am trying to write 50 word 'stories' or 'prose' or 'poetry' or ... something? *Rolleyes* Anywho, this expanded to 72 words. I then had to remove any extraneous words and as many small words: a/and/the/is as I could without destroying the rhyme, rhythm and reason. I took out one line and made it the title (I cheat. *Smirk*). It'll need a further edit; but, any word added will mean one deleted. "Tales told over scones and hot tea

Blah-blah-blah:

Wednesday: Who remembers by now! Went out for sushi. Earlier cooked up some chicken breast and added banana, curry and baby peas. The smell took me back to Costa Rica and the flavors blended well. I'd recommend it and will make it again.

Thursday: Talked to the weatherman about the impending storms. The one that didn't hit ... again. *Rolleyes*

Finished reading The Sight by Erin Hunter. The characters from the "New Prophecy" series have grown up so the story focuses on the new generation: Lion, Holly and Jay.

Friday morning and I woke up early. Now the sun is streaming through the window and trying to fry me.

quote for the day

"The tree will grow, the earth will send forth hyacinths and give blessings, and man will become of the heavenly angels. Feed on the light of guidance and impart light to the people." ~‘Abdu’l-Bahá
