Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Under the cover of dust
Under the cover of dust

Covered by dust,
your petals sigh, camouflaged at last.
Pink is an awful color when skies glow violet
and rust bleeds purple.
Better to blend in among bleached stones,
ooze the fragrance of musth,
so that the elephants,
being jealous and pink by nature,
will not trod on you,
petaled or not.
Your stamens lay coated with lust,
your pistil's hidden
and yet,
I see you there as if you were glowing neon.
You could never hide, Zmitri.
Not as fish nor rock,
not when covered with flesh nor stardust.
In the realm
of all-that-ever-was,
the signature of your soul chimes
one singular clear note.
This,
I always trust.

Another one of my "Zmitri" poems. I need to make a folder (if I haven't already ... and forgot *Rolleyes*) to make it easier to find and edit when I bring out a chapbook of them.

BLAH BLAH BLAH:

Well, I did get to Butterfly Herbs and had a choco-hazelnut coffee shake (complete with espresso grounds). I should be good until way past midnight. *Bigsmile* I even took a pic, a very nice one I'll have you know.

I could eat an entire loaf of focaccia rosmarino. The salty, rosemary, olive-oil ecstasy ... If you visit I might share with you.

My hands froze. It was much colder out there then it looked. We are under inversion. (Not subversion, David! The weather.) It was grey on grey on grey, except for a patch of blue up Hellgate Canyon. Maybe they saw some rays in Bonner? Not here. Inversion is not a good thing for the lungs nor the spirit. Of course, some folks climb mountains to get above it all.

I was thinking ... [my friends leave the blog-room screaming; they KNOW] ... I should/could bring out a chapbook by the end of February. 200 copies? If I could keep it under $500 it's doable. I could give 100 as gifts. I checked my bank account today and I am financially okay. Emotionally? stable maybe? At least no drama. Mentally and physically on-the-edge, but what-the-hay ... that's normal. *Smirk*
