Finding home
Finding home

It is the way you are taken in,
given a home,
this place
where each breath calms you down,
where your heart opens up.

You could die here.

Better than merely being a survivor
in a place where no one cares
or caring kills what little joy remains
like gold in hidden veins.

In a land of copper and silver,
in a place where gold is valued,
in this new home
your vaults are entered
and what is most precious
sobs softly in gentle hands.

Missoula has been welcoming. Tahlequah was healing. When I first went to Kansas U as a student many years ago I blossomed.

Where I grew up I never felt it. Nebraska and Colorado were fine, but I didn't thrive there. Costa Rica was a painful adventure. Kansas the second time around was Death incarnate.

Perhaps I am too sensitive, but being treated like a valued human being means something to me.

BLAH BLAH BLAH:

I finished reading Dawn by Erin hunter. Book #3 of a well written YA series. Glad I finished because I've been blocked in finishing it. I keep wondering which characters are going to be offed. Only lost two or three this time and they weren't the main ones. I get uber-sensitive at times and this has been one of those times.

I wrote in my Journal: "When life is boring one must look closely to notice the uniqueness of every moment & learn what lessons are written there" [1,921]

Had a lemon milkshake today and five pieces of sushi. Hung out at Zootown to read. Krista the barista gave me a mini-mocha so I could try it. Powerful stuff. *Shock* So, I'm properly caffeinated and good to go for awhile. *Bigsmile*

Took more pictures. If I take pictures every day, I'll learn the limitations of this Kodak digital. I already am in love with "Zoom".
