Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Yet without a leash
Yet without a leash

Past the glow of a single lamplight
his world has an edge.
Here in this center where all reveals itself
in harsh brightness,
there where night rules life's shadowed secrets
he circles, hangs close to the hedge
where the scent of sunset lingers
and dawn will greet him as he sleeps.
For now, he patrols his mighty kingdom
trudges along his nightly path.
One paw shining in the light,
one enveloped by the dark,
his inner sight gazing beyond the solitary lamp
into the dangerous damp that beckons.
Yet without a leash, he reckons,
he is bound to the flame like a moth.

Written less than 3 weeks ago; but, I have no idea what the prompt was! I know I wrote it and did some editing because it's in my handwriting. Memory lapses have their own gift. *Smile*

BLAAH BLAAH BLAAH:

Got up late. Took it easy. Was startled to see Livinia who is various shades of green; she cut her trip to the Pacific short due to illness. So ... I'm feeling great in comparison.

Did manage to pay my phone bill and get out of the house. Saw Liam at CC (he's okay, I was worried) and spoke with Amanda and Bryan at Butterfly Herbs where they were playing a version of Japanese poetry cards called Genji (which intrigues me). Gave my phone number to them-all, since folks here actually call me (not like in Kansas). I had the pasta salad, a rosemary roll and treated myself to a cardamom malt.

Friday night and it was football at the Wilma. Sat with one David, saw another David, spoke with Devon. Went to The Break afterward and visited some more with David over a cup of coffee. Closed up the joint.

Not a particularly productive day, but not bad either. *Smile*
