Tales told by pines
Tales told by pines

Old scat,
no signs of life.
Then there! Half hid by vines:
rubbing post of the porcupine,
spent quills.

ME:

I went to an appointment today for 'Recovery', but there were only three of us. So disappointing to have it canceled. We chatted for awhile though and that was good.

Seth Kantner read and spoke tonight at Fact and Fiction. His recent book is Shopping for Porcupine. He has Montana connections even though he lives near Kotzebue, Alaska. He answered questions about the change in culture and climate in the rural areas of the Seward Peninsula.

Got milk? I do. Went shopping and actually remembered to buy coffee and mouthwash. Sometimes these little victories are as good as it gets. *Smile*

The winds blew through town tonight. Dropped the sunny 80 degree temperatures into the 60s with rain expected later. One can hope. There is a touch of green on Mt. Sentinel in the burn areas that could use a bit of a sprinkle.

BLOGVILLE:

A continuation of my rant you've all read before *Rolleyes*:

I checked stats for this blog. I was stunned. 5 days with under 10 views. Only 48 WDC readers [I've had over 100/month in the past].

I know many of you don't care about stats, but I do! If I don't have an audience, can't find an audience, then I'm doing something wrong. *Frown*

I'm serious.

I love connecting with folks. True, certain people in my life are "special", but everyone I write for is special. If I don't connect then why do I write?

My first blog began as a way of allowing family and friends to keep up with my life. Very few have ever stopped by. My generation isn't as computer savvy as Gen X or Gen Y but really ... they've all heard of MyFace, so why not stop in here once in awhile? Only a couple have commented, so I rely on the WDC community for my 'writing' support and connection.

I know how to up the number of readers. Quite simple, really. Read their blogs! Although, many no longer blog and many bloggers seem so wrapped up in themselves they won't reach out regardless. So ... lots of work to do.

I do want to thank all my readers that comment; you have helped keep me sane over the last couple of years. *Heart*
