Fertility

         for Luke

Crampy and depressed
the motions of hope beyond hope
a child's blue kimono

A lightness of being
smoke in the air, smog to choke
the shuffle between bed and toilet

Mourning come to light
with teddy bears in badges and helmets
their voices pitched high

Harvest of eggs
the soft fold and blend with sperm
a child in a small blue kimono

From the talk given by Shelley Kirilenko who wrote, The Blue Kimono about infertility. How on the second try in vitro fertilization worked. I got a signed copy and had her son Luke, who turns 6 *Heart* on Thursday, August 21st to sign it too.

ME:

Got out of the house. Unfortunately got my times mixed up for the wildlife movie, but I did get to the reading and book signing.

Barbara at Fact and Fiction noticed that I cut off my beard (it will grow back). Others who know me were surprised, but it was getting scruffy and the skin underneath was screaming for more air and some sun.

I bought another yellow Dixon melon, Paradise peaches and some apricots.
