orange butterfly on blue lobelia

the future you once faced
so far behind it's history
recording a fear filled time

names on plaques
and one bronze angel
enveloping the cocoon
of what was once your life

from the chrysalis of birthing
the crucible of war
from deep blue petals
one orange butterfly takes flight

This was inspired by the War Memorial in the rose gardens at Brooke Street and Mount in Missoula.

Inscribed on a plaque:

ME:

Sushi at Sushihana ... maybe I didn't overdo it this time. I'm sipping coffee at Liquid Planet so I stay awake. I have lots of catching up to do and sushi = nap.

Caught the music at noon at Caras Park and had fry bread ... very good fry bread, btw. I then watched the horses go round and round at the carousel, my feet firmly planted on the ground.

Close to 100 today, but we may get lucky and go all summer without breaking 100. Everyone says this summer is so much better than last year's.

I got a book out on Mah Jong so I can read up before taking on the locals. It's been years since I've played Mhing, a card game similar to it.
