Four silhouettes ... shadows
Four silhouettes

Sun dying at my back,
moon caught between the cedars,
Holcom Park rests empty now:
no balls, no bats, no walks, no runs,
but fun runs rampant in the playground
while robins search to feed their young.
Long shadows cast four silhouettes:
the sycamore, the tall light pole,
me squatting on a bench.

ME:

Got out of the house! Got money from the bank. Had an Indian taco. Entered and edited recent poems; I'm catching up. Went downtown, saw Rocio. Had a black bean burger. Caught the Yellow bus home. Not much else.

WRITING

Stormy runs a poetry newsletter contest. She asks us to make a poem from these 8 words: sweet flash strike pale touch aroma picturesque vile.

I'm always amazed how she gets one word in there that ain't like the others! For me that is 'picturesque'. I always find it hard to use long words. At least it is only 3 syllables. *Rolleyes* Maybe I can weave something about:

A vile Villa above Roma with an aroma that strikes one as not-so-sweet; yet, the pale touch before dawn would still find its shadow picturesque in the flash of a camera ... *Pthb*
