A shadowed vortex (after a Georgia O'Keeffe painting)

A shadowed vortex

I tell Elijah that this is the vortex, inbalance wrought by inner fears, what ears must hear on the edge of vertigo, a lullaby of white noise from the swirl of silky petals, the down-drawing fall into a hidden core.

Once famous for his flames, Elijah glances at the furls, speaks of snow-doused embers turning grey, the weight of justice balancing our rights and wrongs, the lack of classical rules in jazz.

In the twirl of an opening rose, conceived with oil and canvas, we feel the concussive blows of silence.

Inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's Abstraction White Rose (1927):

ME:

Couldn't find my three green memopads of poetry and notes last night. Retraced my steps. Aimée's? Library? Home? Nope. They were by the computer at Indy Inc. this morn. Right where I left them. I handled the stress a bit better this time. But I'm up and about when I still want to be in bed. *Smirk*

The students at the coffeehouses look more serious as the semester winds down. Had a nice talk with Paige last night though and Elijah the night before.

WRITING:

Writing to Georgia O'Keeffe's art work is not as hard as I thought it would be, but abstract art is not my forté and I might go to the internet and write to what art of hers inspires me rather than stick to the 27 post cards.
