List to my Muse of things to do
List to my Muse of things to do:

to live long
to outlive you
to cradle you while you die
to receive your last breath as a blessing
to cleanse your remains
to remove all dishonor
to anoint the flesh with rose water
to wrap you in a pure muslin shroud
to kiss you on the forehead, one last goodbye
to bury you,
you who will always be with me
to publicly acknowledge you as my muse
to privately mourn in silence

Squish of slush inside my shoes; shadow of a parking sign; sun filtered through silver clouds; the movement of tree limbs, of people, of cars; chirp of a child wafting from the other room.

BLOGVILLE:

My response to an entry by Just Jamie : I delight in my friends that are different from me, but I sometimes find it hard to build bridges across the chasm of our personalities and experiences, especially when I'm not sure where the other shore lies.

isiacs_mom is quotable: I think the saying should be changed to "the only thing certain in life is death from taxes."

NEWS/ON-LINE:

Egytian Bahá'ís finally got the right to leave religion blank on their national ID cards. We are not recognised there at this moment (only Muslim, Christian and Jew) and since Bahá'ís are forbidden to lie about thier religious affiliation this led to folks not being able to go to school or get a passport.

Those who are in favor of national ID cards in the U.S. should take note of what all can be included. Not everyone's intention is a warm inclusive hug.

ME:

Liver and onions at Kelly's. Tea at Three again. Today Indian tacos. Tomorrow: water and rearrange the plants, clean bedroom *Rolleyes*, laundry. Life's a rut and then a box.

For half price I bought a map of the USA and a book of poetry Forgotten Music by Àlex Susanna (translated from the Catalan). I splurged.

Kansas: 40º and sun peeking through thin clouds.
