In a Kansas evening gown
See my previous entry for the two polls I made: "Reigning cats and DOGS!

In her Kansas evening gown

         for Karen Anderson

As this evening blessed the eyes,
crushed velvet robes in royal purple,
vermillion sashed across the sky
and tinted clouds arose to greet her,
as shadows lengthened with a sigh,
she blushed, then chose to enter.

BLOGVILLE:

sultry states that our blog entries are indeed writing and suggests that we attempt to write stories from them (I've written poems and prose poems, for sure). This reminded me of entries in my hand-written journal going back 4 years. I'll post some thoughts in my next blog after I read them.

ME:

I'm okay. It will be bitter cold tonight as we enter a period of life called WINTER. At least the days are lengthening and school's back in session, which is a sure sign of hot tea on Thursdays and basketball season warming up.

My hands shook yesterday for no apparent reason, so Susan held them down on my knees today. She also covered my toes with hers. Many therapists leave out touch as a vehicle for healing and Susan is hesitant to use it unless her 'client' is okay with it. (She's of Norwegian background and they tend to do hand shakes ... at a distance.) Although I'm part Swede, I do best around Sicilians. They hug or shoot at close range. No way you can't be touched by that! *Laugh*
It was a good session.

Kansas: 25º and light snow.
