My hair thins
and I begin to see the head
my father first saw
before I could open eyes.

I close them now
to imagine his joy:
first born, a brand new father,
unaware of all to come.

My hair thins
almost as fine as his
before he died.
My fingers part my future.

ME:

Good day actually. Met Ella Bella, a Siamese who climbed all over me. Her owner said she's an outside kitty and VERY friendly. I liked the bead shop; but, at 3.50/bead I may have to rethink buying them as 'marbles' for a 5 year old. Ate out in a couple places. Met nice folks up at UM campus including Prof. Mizuki Miyashita who has written about the pauses in haiku. Basically it is an 8 beat: 5***, 7*, 5***. She will teach a course on prosody and poetry next semester. Prof. Sharma, director of Creative Writing was awesome too.

If I do not move here (doubtful due to costs), I will defnitely need to visit often.

Got an e-mail from Skye who I wrote a poem for (see yesterday's entry). She was happy. If I could make one person happy a day ...

Montana: 20º and snow and wind in our future ... *Snow3*
