River Hawk

         for River of Friday Harbor

She listens to the melodies
of voice, the tone, the tremble.
Ears pierce hidden spirit
within words. Notes it. Hugs it.
Gives support, then lets it go.
She soars above the whispers
of the fog, the waves against the island
shore, the course of water reaching
to the sea. She sees with inner
touch. She flows like rivers,
flies on feathered song.

Had a decent trip. I'm in Washington for Thanksgiving. Will go to Missoula on Friday and the Montana game on Saturday.

Wrote about the journey and the people in my journal. Wrote more poems on paper and on leaves.

Very tired. Ta.

Washington: 32 degrees and chilly.
