What are your resolutions/ good intentions for the New Year?

Increase my income. Write more. Go on pilgrimage. Be less negative in my self-talk. Try something new I’ve never did before. Improve my knowledge of self.

What happened in your life that you never expected to happen?

I survived to the age of sixty. When I was growing I never thought I’d live that long, because there was the threat of nuclear war and most of the people I knew thought that we would get hit with “The Bomb”.

What is one thing you did that you have never done before?

Served on a Grand Jury, which was an educational and exhilarating experience.

What were your biggest achievements?

I decide to go for my masters’ in Instructional Technology and am working on it.

What were your biggest challenges?

My biggest challenges are money and procrastination, not necessarily always in that order.

What is your biggest regret?

My biggest regret is that my sister and I don’t have the type of relationship other sisters have.

When were you happiest?

I am happiest attending Baha’i related events and writing.

Who was your best friend?

My best friends are the Baha’i in the Las Vegas area.

Who surprised you this year? In what way?

The biggest surprise of 2006 was how much I have learned about myself and grown. This surprised me because before I hadn’t wanted to face the flaws I have and do something about them.

Who did you admire most this year?

The person I most admired in 2006 wasn’t a living individual, but a mystic poet who died in the 1850s. Tahirih is the person I most admire, because of the way she lived her life and wrote her poems.

Who were you in love with?

I wasn’t “in love” with anyone in 2006. Being in loves means that you are yourself, but are attempting to impress the person you think you’re in love with, this is enclosing one’s self in walls.

What was the most important lesson you learned?

That I need to trust more in God and Baha’u’llah, that I can do anything I set my mind to if I don’t look at my weaknesses.

What was your favorite TV show?

My favorite TV show in 2006 was As Time Goes By a Britcom on channel 10.

What was your favorite film?

I didn’t see any films in 2006.

What was your favorite book?

In 2006 my favorite book was Tahirih: Her life in Poetry.

What was your favorite food?

I had two favorite foods in 2006 chocolate and Jalapeños.

What was your favorite song?

I didn’t listen to many songs in 2006. My favorite song of all times is Amazing Grace.

What were your favorite phrases?

My favorite “phrases” is a two line prayer revealed by Baha’u’llah. “He who puts his trust in God, God will suffice him; He who fears God, God will send Him relief.”

What did you do for your Birthday?

I stayed home, surfed the internet and logged into writing.com.

Which was your favorite Holiday?

My favorite holiday in 2006 was Naw-Ruz, the beginning of spring and the Baha’i New Year.

What was the best gift you gave?

I gave the gift of time in 2006.

What was the best gift you received?

I received a Boarders gift card for my birthday in 2006. I used it to get two new books; it’s been a long time since I bought myself new books.

What did someone say to you that surprised you?

Nothing.

What was your hobby? you?

In 2006 my hobby was collecting Harley-Davidson Memorabilia.

What new discoveries did you make?

The discoveries I made were about myself and the reason I do or don’t do something.

What was your guilty pleasure for the year?

Chocolate.

What did you do on an average day?

Got online.

What was your fashion like?

Leather Harley-Davidson cap with everything I wear.

What was your career/job like?

Writing and getting online.

Did you make more/less/same amount than the previous year?

Less

What new skills did you learn this year?

Working with Lectora.

What do you think was your most valuable contribution?

Writing and blogging.

What lesson(s) did you learn about yourself?

That I can do whatever I set my mind to and that I don’t have to let my fears stop me from achieving my goals.

What were the most significant events of the past year?

Starting the classes for my Masters’ degree.

What were you afraid of?

Spiders

What was your most memorable journey?

The journey to self knowledge.

Which did you do more of? Smile or cry?

Cry and worry.

Yes.

Did you lose any old friends?

Yes, two died in 2006.

No.

I did buy any tech items in 2006.

What was your most extravagant purchase?

Buy gas for the car.

What should you have done more of?

Laugh and trust in God.

What should you have done less of?

Cry and worry.

What made the biggest difference in your life?

Prayers and writing.

What gave you joy?

Writing and reading.

What made you sad?

Worrying

What is your motto for the year?

I didn’t have a motto for 2006, but my 2007 motto is “Go ahead and attempt it or at least write about it!!”
