Bill worked all day yesterday, didn't get home till after 7. Today, after church, was going to be the day to go fly--the first time since January. And after all these beautiful days of perfect weather, it was too windy to go up. Gusts up to 50 knots. He said it would have been too rough a ride. I would have gone, but I trust the pilot to know best. Darn. He'll try to take Wednesday off if it's nice out, and maybe we can go somewhere that day. He needs to do a few landings (and a few at night) to be current, so if I have to go to work some on Wednesday morning, he can do a solo and some toucn and goes first thing.

I worked a long time yesterday on the story for NavWorks' class, one version written in first person and then another in 3rd. It isn't easy for me to whip up a story, a plot. I wish I'd only attempted a scene, which would have been acceptable, but I didn't remember that until later.

I don't know how to look for stories. If anybody has any good ideas about this, I'd appreciate it. Even with prompts, it's hard for me to come up with a plot. It's easier to see material for poetry than stories. I can do middles, but not ends, and I like stories where ends matter. Not just "slice of life" stories that were popular for a long time.

The month of October is almost over, and although my goals were a little loose and I didn't meet them all, I don't feel too bad about them. I wanted to lose ten pounds, and I lost twelve. I didn't get 30 minutes of exercise on five days each week, but I did get a couple days' worth each week. I did enter a couple of contests. i didn't submit anything for publication. Maybe tomorrow. I still have one day!
