Bi-Lateral Opti-Goofy
Bi-Lateral Opti-Goofy is a condition that occurs when a writer has spent entirely too much time reading and writing blogs. You won’t find it in your dictionary, but then I can’t find blog in my hardback copy either. It will show up in both soon enough, I’m sure.
R-r-r-ing, I’ve learned, is Reading, Rating and Reviewing. I didn’t make that one up, but I like it. When my husband comes home at night and tosses out, “What have you been doing today?” in that rhetorical way we sometimes do, I can answer “R-r-r-ing” and he probably won’t even give it a second thought.
Bill read the story I entered last night in, as he would jokingly put it, “some dang contest or another.” It was about a wedding that didn’t go as planned.
In the story "Bearing Up" there is a large man who helps occupy the ring bearer before the service begins by reminding him of his duties. Bill is the man, and he really did that, although we do not know the true consequences of his actions. I guess you’ll have to read the story to find out what he did, and how, if at all, this paragraph connects to the one above it.
I think I’ll plead Bi-Lateral Opti-Goofy for now, and go do something else.
