Appreciation
When I went in to hospice yesterday, several people said things like, "Oh, good, you're here today!" (I only work part time and have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off usually.) What a nice feeling!

When Bill came home, he brought roses and Asti Spumante and asked if I knew why. Because it was Mother's birthday? She would have been 91.

Well, no, he said, but he would have if he'd thought of it. Which is true, he would have. He is such a good guy!

Then he told me about a possible good promotion in the works for him if the commissioners vote for it. I'm so happy to see him get the appreciation he deserves.

Later he asked if I'd consider moving to the town he works in. I said I'd consider it. I've done so before, but it isn't very appealing. I'd have to leave my church and job and friends. It's only 45 minutes away, but that's a long Sunday morning commute. My job requires some oncall, so that wouldn't work. Anyway, I'll think about it. There's a lot of getting ready to do to sell this house.

The one good thing I thought about was the pleasure I've had writing and the people I'm getting to know a little on this web site. Completely portable. That's encouraging.
