vespers, 42 degrees. 30 in Missoula, MT

Fog. Frozen fog for Montana valleys. Here it will warm up this week. Looking forward to 50s on Thanksgiving.

My aunt resports that the cold has finally hit North Carolina. She still has leaves on her tree. Here, most trees lost every leaf a while ago, but the oak, pagoda and pear trees are stubborn.

The tomato plant I nurtured through the autumn has a ripening fruit on it. Small victories do count. Especially when there is a lack of hope. It grew from seed in a pot of geraniums this past summer.

I'm up to page 790 in my journal. I could include snippets from that! Might decide to make this blog more personal or philosophical. Not sure.

The Somber Pavan, written by Ronald Barnes (1927-1997) evokes a sense of sadness. It was well played by Lon Mitchell this evening on the carillon. The last concert is December 4th.
