Monsoon Season

It is monsoon season in Las Vegas. There was a thunder storm last night. The lightning was beautiful. The lightning lit up the clouds like a star light up a nebula. The thunder rumbled like distant explosions. I lay in bed watching the lightning. There is nothing more beautiful than lightning at night. The down side is that if ligtning stricks in the mountains it starts fires. There are a lot of fires in Nevada and California this year because of the lightning. Monsoon season rains started a bit late this season. So the lightning earlier than the rain. The windter was wet so there was a lot of dry brush to catch fire. The wild fires have burned and are still burning. This is going to be an interesting year.
