Steamy Days and Sleepless Nights...

It's not as exciting as the title makes it sound. My days are steamy because we've reached a record 90 degrees in April. Where did spring go? It seems like we've skipped over the enchanted days of 70 degree weather and a cool breeze to the dog days of summer.

My nights are currently sleepless thanks to a teething 8 month-old and allergies.

I'm tired, overwhelmed, and down. I spent much of yesterday in bed when the baby slept because I needed to. I needed to mope and rest. It was necessary for my preservation! Self-preservation should not be underrated.

Along with my tiredness comes my complete lack of desire to write. I think it's not a coincidence. They go hand in hand. I have a piece due on April 25th for an editor in Los Angeles. Twenty pages of which I have 1 1/2. Am I trouble? Don't answer - I know already.

Yet I sit here typing a journal that probably no one will read instead of a piece that I could actually make money from.

Sabotaging myself? Probably, but I'm too tired and too sneezy to analyze myself so carefully today. I'll take some medication, make a pot of coffee and write. Or play on the Internet until the baby wakes.

Analyzing must wait for another day.
