In My World
In my world there are no clocks. No clocks, no weather small talk and no telephone sales pitches. In my world noone sells their time for money because time is as precious as blood and money isn't. In my world an ear to ear smile and a cheek to cheek hug are far more valuable than what you drive or what you're wearing. No minute hands ticking time away and certainly no second hands keeping track of precious seconds that must be accounted for later. No second counters tallying up seconds in my world. No time cards, no Klu Klux Klan cross burnings and no finger pointing. Gold is just another colour and oil is something that goes on salads or naked skin, not something to power huge factories that belch out widgets by the gazillions...new and improved widgets...coz last year's widgets were crap and anyone who's anyone MUST have this year's widget...which must be true coz the nice person on the TV commerical told me so, while kindly pointing out other company's widgets are crap. Only their widgets are the Holy Grail of all widgets, (until next seasons widgets come out). In my world there are no tabloids coz noone is interested and media circus is an obscene word. Children are valued and not thrown away. Children and grandparents and campfires. Promises are kept, dogs are walked and slides are slid on. Skin colour doesn't matter nor what prayers you say. In my world God decides who lives or dies and Santa decides who's been naughty or nice. In my world Live And Let Live is the law and the entire Amazing Race series can be purchased on DVD instead of just a few token episodes. Corn is popped, echos are echoed and tickles follow bedtime stories. In my world noone would ever dream of spitting or throwing garbage out their car windows. Long rambling journal entries are encouraged, Christmas advertising doesn't start in September and every child has somebody show up on parent-teacher nights. Parents at the parent-teacher nights, whistling, random acts of kindness and lots of blowing bubbles.

I sometimes fear my world is getting smaller and smaller.
