Time Flies

Wow! It's almost been a month since I last added anything huh? I'm not surprised really. I have very little desire these days to write, which means not many people are dropping by my port, which only encourages my blasai attitude. Crap. Blasai doesn't look right. It means indifferent.

I just tried my best to figure out the correct spelling but no luck. The word I'm thinking of is no doubt a two syllable French word that sounds like blah and say, although it's more of a "z" sound than an "s sound and no "y" sound at all if I remember correctly. Whatever.

Lots of stuff has happened since I was last here but of course my mind has just gone blank as I wrote that.

Oh yeah...the telephone scam has been widely reported in the papers up here. Apparently I was one of the lucky 200 or so who complained in my province. There were oodles more who either didn't check their bills and paid them or didn't want the hassle and paid them anyways. I can understand why after the way I was made to feel like a criminal or pervert that first month. Somebody in another province (where they have 1,000+ complaints) isn't nearly as lucky as myself. His bill is for over $2,500 and his phone company is only willing to go halves. He sounds EXACTLY as I did. He's not going to pay a cent for calls he didn't make even if he has to take it to court. It makes me feel good that they've mentioned the Sao Tome scam by name.

The time I used to spend here I now mostly spend at the trivia site. I'm not getting any writing done mind you but I'm having a blast over there. We're now in teams and the Canuks are kicking everyone's butt! Woo Hoo!!!! Yeah Canada!!!! 1st out of 56+ teams! I've personally managed to get as high as 11th place overall on the monthly scoreboard (of the world's largest trivia site). Not bad. 11th out of tens of thousands. I've also recently done an interview for their newsletter. I was kinda wary about that. I did an interview regarding my art for a small national magazine and was appalled at how they screwed it up. I regretted agreeing to doing it afterwards. I've been wary of doing interviews ever since. This trivia interview had some great questions though. It's yet to be posted. If it turns out okay I may post it here also. (I did tend to get pretty silly...but hey...that's just who I am)

For various reasons some folks at the trivia site thought I was female. I belong to another triva team, just three members (the other two are females) and some have assumed it to be an all female team. Two people said they thought I was a girl because I'm funny. Hmmmph! Can't guys be funny too?

Unlike here where I have my pics and journal posted, over there I have very little written or displayed about myself. To tell the truth I didn't give it any thought. I guess I took it forgranted folks would know I'm male. I was almost tempted to play along with a couple of them. It would have been interesting to see what females have to say about guys behind their backs. In the end I decided against it coz it would have definitely felt creepy. I hate lying and I'm not about to start now. When I told some people they had got it all wrong and that I was a guy, they felt terrible. Like they had paid me the worst possible insult imaginable. I wasn't offended BTW, only amused. It did make me realize though how some feel females are "inferior". I find that sad.

What else? Lots of stuff but there's no time right now. I didn't plan on this taking as long to write as it has. Must dash. (I'm making lasagna. Yummmmmmm)
