You don't like it, then don't read it. Simple as that.

So What in the World is a Paraphernalia?
Since I find myself marinating in extreme boredom at the present moment, I thought I'd be original and share here the list of my favourite words. If you're the type of person that enjoys reading dictionaries - in other words, if you have no life - then this is the place for you. Have fun.

Tatterdemalion: luvly word used to design a person wearing torn, ragged clothes, ie. a beggar.

Paraphernalia: a collection of small, heteroclite objects, especially those connected with a particular activity.

Phantasmagoria: a confused group of real or imaginary images, ie. a dream.

Sacrilege: the act of treating something holy or important without respect.

Defenestration: the act of throwing someone out of a window. (Gee, don't we all use this one everyday...)

Mysticism: the belief that there is hidden meaning in life.

Prolegomenon: an introductory essay in a book, ie. an introduction.

Condottiere: a mercenary.

Luculent: easily understood; clear or lucid.

Memorabilia: objects valued for their connection with historical or cultural events.

Lavaliere: a pendant worn on a chain around the neck.

Cornucopia: a goat's horn overflowing with fruits, flowers, grains, and other goodies. I do believe I've seen one before that held chocolate bars.

Rakehell: a dissolute person, ie. someone that goes over the fires of hell, gathering embers with a rake.

Mellifluous: flowing with sweetness or honey.

Panopticon: a room for the exhibition of novelties; also, a prison in which the supervisor can watch the prisoners, without being seen.

Saturnine: melancholy, bitter, sullen. ie. my grandma.

Idiolect: the unique speech pattern of a non-idiotic individual.

Ultima thule: a distant location, or a remote goal or idea.

Braggadocio: empty or pretentious bragging.

Equilibrium: mental, emotional, or physical balance.

Avatar: an embodiement, incarnation, or archetype.

Etcetera: and so on, etc. etc.

Vertigo: a confused, disoriented state of mind.

Curiosa: books or other creations dealing with unusual topics. Pornography's a fave.

Ultimatum: a final statement.

Ex aequo at the same time, ie. in a race.

And then there is, of course, the infamous supercalifragilisticexpialadocious, but my dictionary tells me it isn't a word. Oh well.

And, oh yeah, I did not make up these definitions. They come, in the main part, from WordSmith, an online club of mine, and also my precious little English dictionary *hugs dictionary* although I don't know what the name of it is.

And yes, that's right. I have no life.
