Prompt: WdC is celebrating a birthday. Talk about birthdays in your blog today.

Birthdays are fabulous celebrations. In our family the birthday honoree gets special treatment. They receive their favorite meals and someone else does their chores. Birthdays are celebrated on the exact calendar date. At least with the immediate family.

I am personally sensitive to birthdays. Mine is New Year’s Eve. I got the same honoree perks. The issue is it is close to Christmas. I would receive one gift to cover both events. It bothered me when I was young. Now, I am thrilled when I complete another trip around the sun.

My husband’s birthday was on Christmas Eve. We were sure to have his party and wrap his gifts in birthday wrapping paper, not Christmas wrap. Nowadays gift bags are popular.
