Black Hot Coffee

Black hot coffee
Drinking at dawn
         A good morning
Watching the news
         Now bad morning

In afternoon
I shift to tea
         And then to wine
         Drinking red wine
With my hot wife
         Everything is fine.

Tax Code Charity (Minuette)

I voted twice,
in different years
for Reagan’s way.
I voted twice,
against the guy
who now holds sway.
I give at church
I give in town
I really care
as much as Bill
who gave the poor
his underwear.

Cosmic Speculations
Dark energy
and dark matter
fill universe.
What do they do?
We hardly know.
It could be worse.
Multi-verses
also exist
at least in minds.
Doppelgangers
duplicate us,
they think they’ll find.
One of me is
enough many say.
Simulations
have gone awry
causing many
stipulations.
We know little
about cosmos.
What to believe?
What will guide us?
What new knowledge
will we conceive?

The poem has 12 lines. Two sixains.

All lines are four syllables long.
