Oh Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso,
Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Kerouac,
the 21st Century would be an odd time
to rediscover the beat poets and beatniks,

and maybe I owe them more than I know,
they make me smile and I know them better,
now more than ever before, a land unknown
to return to and mumble something about roots.
