23 passions

our lives are filled
with passion.

passion for life
passion for love.

red hot burning passion
for one another.

and unfortunately,

some people are filled
with darker
dangerous passions.

passion for money.
passion for power.
passion for hate.

driven by despair,
fear, envy
jealousy, and hate.

passion for revenge
against our enemies.
fueled by hateful rhetoric
politicians throwing gasoline on the fire.

igniting that dark dangerous passion.
that passion can lead to violence.
even death itself.

can the passion we feel
for one another
for love and companionship.

overcome the dark passions
of our dark age?
