One More Autumn Poem

Reality selects its fiery palette
as Autumn arrives, painting the leaves
with red, yellow, and gold,
setting the forest alight with warmth,
spreading a shifting carpet on
the dark and dampened earth.
Overhead, the windy sky is brushed
with opaque gouache clouds.
