Seasons

The days grow long
and the nights dwindle
as spring tightens its grip.
No more the moonbeams play
at the midnight window,
no more the heaters tick.
The earth turns, the seasons change
and summer is icumen in.

For Express It In Eight, March 25 2021
Prompt: Dwindle, moonbeam.
Note: “Summer is icumen in” is a quote from a medieval English song called The Cuckoo Song. It means, of course, that summer is a-coming in.
