Not daring to look back, Azula and Naruto ran through the forest looking for Konoha. The Fire Nation Princess really had to push herself to keep up with the ninja. She was in good shape but he just seemed to have an endless amount of stamina. Added onto that Naruto’s intimate connection with the fox made him push himself that much harder. He knew how dangerous the fox was and was determined to reach the center of his subconscious as soon possible
It was a sudden surprise when he stopped abruptly in front of her causing her to bang into his shoulder.
“Ow!!!!!” Azula “What did you stop for?”
“The paths suddenly changed,” Naruto explained. “I don’t know which way to go.”
“What do you…?” Azula trailed off as she looked ahead of her. Sure enough the dirt trail that Naruto was following had suddenly forked in two directions. “oh.”
She walked a little bit in front of him examining the possible routes. She noticed where the road forked were two road signs. The one pointing towards the right path read Konoha of Memories while the one pointing towards the left path read Konoha of Heart’s Desires.”
Azula frowned. “As we reach deeper areas of your mind, you need to fine tune the path you want to take.” She said.
“But which of these Konoha holds the center of my subconscious.” Naruto asked.
“How should I know?” Azula asked annoyed. “This is your mind.”
She softened slightly explaining to ninja what he needed to do.
“Concentrate Naruto, you know where your subconscious is located even if you don’t realize it.”
“Well that’s just great.” Naruto said frowning as he remembered Iruka’s lessons. “Concentration has never really been my strong point.”
Focusing his mind the way he would gather Chakra for the Rasengan attack, the Ninja concentrated on where he wanted to go. One direction in particular seemed to pop out at him.
“I think it’s this way.” He said moving in one direction.
Which version of the village did he decide to head towards?
