Can you keep up? |
** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Welcome to my strange world. Try to keep up with my running words! |
To make a long story short: - there were 2 deaths in my family - I had mono and was in the hospital I am extremely sorry to everyone that I have not contacted/talked to yet. I've sent out emails to my group members explaining the situation - and I've also written a little in my bio on my portfolio page. I have still not gone through a vast majority of my emails. This week I've been bombarded with tests for my courses. As soon as they are all finished, however, I will go through my emails, and hopefully get the events that were running while all of this (unfortunately) happened running again. If there is a matter of urgency you wish to talk to me about, please comment here, as I am going to be checking this section daily. Again, sorry for any inconveniences caused - and I'm glad to be back, for however short of a while daily I can get on. I truly missed this site! - Sara |
Da ba dee da ba di! Words cannot express how excited I am! The promotion was such a shock. And I'm among such fabulous people! It truly is an honor. Here's a shout-out to my new fellow Mods! Put on those tutus! Lalalalala |
Finally, the day is here. I find it rather ironic that I am going to be writing about an older gentleman's quest to regain his muse... after mine has been missing for so long. Oh, the irony of life. It's going to be an interesting month, that's for sure. I hate writing fantasy and the likes, yet here I am, writing about furry little muses. Off to writing I go! |
being called a bitch just because I won't tell someone how old I am over the Internet. Lovely. |
I know, I know - I'm writing here a lot sooner than anyone had expected. What really bugs me: People who expect things to be handed to them on a silver plate. Really? You can't do anything for yourself? You can't read a help page to see how to do things? You can't find something for yourself but ask others to do it all for you? Venting is needed here. Bear with me. Say, for example - and this is all hypothetical, of course - that someone is new to the site. They email someone - who I really don't know how they found, if they're new to the site - and ask them to help them become a better writer. Fair enough. If I were to receive such an email - hypothetically - I would email back welcoming them to the site and tell them that they can only keep writing, or take classes, participate in contests - essentially keep practicing and hope for the best whenever you send out a manuscript. Hypothetically, again, this person emails you back asking to see your writing, to find a contest for them to participate in, and to tell them how to do stuff around the site. Number one rule of writing (at least in my book): never show your writing to a stranger online. Unless you're sending a manuscript to someone you have never met for consideration in a reputable literary magazine; this, of course, is entirely acceptable, so long as the person is indeed an editor or part of the submissions team for said reputable literary magazine. Why this person would (hypothetically) want to see your writing, I have no clue. But under no circumstances would I send it to them. In my book, that's just asking for trouble. Find a contest for someone to enter? I'd be polite and tell them how to get to the Contests page, where they can find a variety of contests, or direct them to the Get Started page, which basically outlines everything about the site. How does this person respond? "I can't find any there." Well, how are you supposed to help someone who can't help themselves? They're clearly laid out on the page, and if you want to learn more about a particular contest, you can click on its link. It's as simple as that, really. This hypothetical situation has exhausted me, and I'm sorry if it offends anyone. Although, really, I can't see how it would, it being hypothetical and all. |
I love the irony of my blog title. Running With Words. There doesn't seem to be much running going on lately, however. So I'm sure no one is having any trouble keeping up. I'll try to change that. I really do have to start writing daily again. We'll see how that goes this time. |
(Or later today, actually.) I have decided to create a list of things I want to accomplish tomorrow. Hopefully this will keep me on track. Write more for what I will submit in Troublesome Musings Complete 4 reviews for SAJ Complete 4 reviews for TP's Baseball Game Public Review Page! Write another scene for His Eyes Complete 2 reviews for RAR I really want to complete everything on this list tomorrow. My fingers are crossed that I will. Knowing me, I'll find something to distract me. Wish me luck! |
I am participating in "Invalid Item" and I'd love to have sponsors! So watcha waitin for? Get on over there! |
No real inspiration has struck. I'm sitting here now, trying to come up with an entry for the Daily Flash Fiction contest. All I need is 300 words, and that is still difficult to come by. You know what else is difficult to come by? Jobs. I have been applying to who knows how many jobs and have I gotten one yet? Of course not. Damn economy. |
It feels like forever since I've written in the blog. But it's the start of summer, and what does that mean? So much more time for writing! I can already feel the creative juices flowing. I wrote a short story yesterday for the Quotation Inspiration contest, but I'm so upset I didn't see the prompt for the contest before yesterday. I have so many ideas to expand it, but I just didn't have enough time to write more. These deadlines kill me. Ah, well. As soon as it's over, I'll get to it again. |
