A ballad poem for the 13 Poetic Days of Halloween Contest
A monster man, newly created, lays upon a table
fashioned from ill-intentioned thoughts
Arms outstretched as he rises
Crackling lightbulbs blow their watts

He waves his arms around
in the newly darkened room
The air is thick with dread
you can almost smell the doom

A bit disgruntled and confused
he stumbles about and finds the door
Not sure of what he really is
his feet carefully trudge the floor

Finally outside, his bloodshot eyes
try to get used to the view
Then stumbling up to an unsuspecting house
he peers through a window and yells, "Boo!"
