My needs

A poem by me

I am what I want to be
But not what I can be
And never will I succeed

I have what I want to have
But not what I need
And never will I be happy

I go where I want to go
But not with a destination
And never will I be home

I dream what I want to dream
But not the dream in me
And never reality

I say what I want to say
But not what I mean
And never the truth

I see what I want to see
But not what is there
And never will I perceive

I hear what I want to hear
But not what is said
And never will I listen

And all the while my wants
Are met I am never truly happy
For my needs I neglect
