Beverly has lost someone dear here comes Adrian to awaken the heart that died with Daniel.

Chapter 1

Beverly sat alone in her room running her hands meditatively over the satin sheets that lined the bed. The blue drapes stirred in the breeze. Beverly had elected to stay at home on this gorgeous night even with all the encouragement from her best friends to come hang out. Now she felt unaccountably lonely sitting in the house.

Beverly rose to shut the window when she began to feel cool. As she approached the window she could see just how beautiful the sky was tonight. She stood there just staring out when a loud thud shocked her out of the trance. She looked around not knowing what the noise was, and then it happened again she realized it was someone at the door.

“Who is it” yelled Beverly as she walked down the stairs. There was no answer. Beverly approached the door cautiously like something or someone was about to snatch her up. There was another knock.

“Who is it?” she yelled again as she placed her hand on the handle.

“Open the door girl and stop playing” was all she heard from the giggling voices. Opening the door seeing China and Trina, Beverly said “I shouldn’t let ya’ll tired asses in my house. What are you guys doing here anyway? Thought you were going out for drinks?”

“We were but momma China decided we should come hang out here instead” said Trina showing her obvious displeasure.

“Aw girl shut up you can get your drink on here” said China pushing them both out the way.

Beverly stood in the doorway looking out after her two best friends rambled past inside the house. Not paying any attention to them, she was too deep in thought. What was wrong with her and why was she feeling so down. Shaking her head she turned and walked towards the kitchen.

“Hey girl what’s your problem, you look down” asked China. Beverly started to ignore her but thought it would be better to just answer her. She wasn’t in the mood for 50 questions.

“Nothing much just had a rough couple of days” answered Beverly.

“Damn girl snap out of it” snapped Trina. If looks could kill Trina would be a dead ass from the piercing eyes Beverly threw her way.

“Now Beverly you know I’m right” spoke Trina.
As much as she wanted to admit big mouth Trina was right, but she wouldn’t give her the pleasure of knowing that. Walking past them into the kitchen Beverly reached into the freezer for the bottle of Hypnotiq and poured herself a glass.

“Anyone want anything while I’m in here?” she asked “Now that was a dumb question” yelled Trina “Bring me a drink.”

“What about you China?”

“No girl I’m good”

Beverly reached into the cabinet to get Trina a glass to pour some hypnotiq in. Turning to walk into the living room she tripped over the door jam. Right at that moment Chocolate Girl by the whispers came thru the stereo speakers hanging from the walls. Beverly stopped dead in her tracks and thoughts of Daniel came to her. Still thoughts of him a year later.

“Can one of you guys put something else on the stereo?” asked Beverly with her voice cracking and tears consuming her eyes. By the time China got up to turn the stereo Beverly had wiped the tears away. She was not in the mood for any heart to heart with the girls tonight.

“I know both of you are still coming to the house tomorrow for the barbecue” China said looking from one to the other.

“Is fine ass Dante coming?” asked Trina with a big smile. “I could just eat his sexy ass up” she added.

“Yeah he’s coming and I expect you to behave” replied China.

“Damn Trina don’t you get enough? You’re a lil freak.” Beverly blurted out.

“Can’t help myself but I’ll try to control myself” Trina said with a big ear to ear grin.

“This is definitely something I’ve got to see” said Beverly. China responded with “We all know you have no control when it comes to the chocolate brothers.” Lips poked all out Trina said “Come on, you two have to admit he is one sexy ass man.” There was no denying that statement all three nodded there heads in agreement then fell out laughing.

Heading back to the kitchen with empty glass in hand Beverly was interrupted by Trina motioning to her. She turned towards Trina and was about to say something when Trina said “bring me a one of them Bacardi’s I know you have in the fridge. China’s driving tonight.”

“Don’t remind me I can’t drink”

“I’ll drink enough for us both” said Beverly smirking.

Upon returning from the kitchen Beverly handed China the Bacardi forgetting it was for Trina. Just as she stretched out on the recliner putting her feet China gave her this evil look.

“What?” was all Beverly could say before it hit her.

“Where is your head at? You know this is for Trina!” said China.

“Don’t go biting my head off, honest it was a mistake” said Beverly looking over at Trina before she burst out laughing. Trina looked at China’s face all frowned up and joined Beverly laughing.

“Screw both you guys” said China hitting them both with pillows off the couch she was sitting on.

“Sorry sweetheart but your not my cup of tea.” said Trina. That made Beverly laugh even harder.

“I’m going to go jump my tired ass in the tub and soak I’ll be back shortly” said Beverly walking away.

Beverly turned to just when China tossed another pillow her way but it went right past her. Quickly she turned gave her the middle finger then ran up the stairs. Now that she was alone in her room she didn’t have to keep the act up anymore. “Why, why, why?” whispered Beverly. Walking into her bathroom she light the candles then poured her strawberries and cream bubble beads as the water ran. She walked back out into the bedroom to gather up a fresh towel.

The sweet smell of strawberries filled the bathroom just as she hit the doorway. Putting one foot in the tub sadness just came upon her. “This is just what I needed a nice warm bath.” Lying back in the tub with candles flickering all around she closed her eyes to relax a little more.

“Hey there sexy” bellowed a deep voice. “How you going to start without me?” realizing who it was brought a smile to Beverly’s face. Not wanting to look his way she dropped her head down.

“Don’t be getting all shy on me now.”

“Sorry Babe didn’t know you were getting in tonight” said Beverly. Walking toward the tub with nothing on but a towel he bent down to give her luscious lips a kiss.

“I’ve missed you” moaned Beverly as he pulled away. “Are you getting in here with me?”

“I think I’ll sit this one out” he said smiling.

“Hey babe can you wash my back for me since you’re here?”

“Anything for you” he said licking his lips.

He reached down and grabbed the scrunchie to soap it up. Beverly’s body started to tingle at the thought of him touching her. Leaning his head closer to her he started to run kisses up and around her neck. Beverly let out a low moan. She arched her back bringing her breast for a clear view. Without any warning he lowered his face and took hold of a nipple while gently caressing the other. Just when the feeling was getting good the phone rang.

“Hello” she answered groggily.

“Damn girl, you’re taking a long time in the tub, we’re about to bounce" replied China. "I need to get to bed and Terrence is blowing the phone up with pages.”

“Oh damn I forgot ya’ll was down there” said Beverly.

“I’ll see you tomorrow then.” They both said goodnight and hung up.

Beverly looked around and there was no one in the room with her. It felt so real, what had she fallen asleep or did she just daydream Daniel was there. This shook her up some but she proceeded to finish up in the bath. She had done enough soaking for one night. While blowing the candles out Beverly reached up to grab her towel. After drying off and putting on her robe she still had this funny feeling inside. Walking towards the dresser she reached out for the brush.

“I need to let go” Beverly said to herself. Something she’s been trying to do but hasn’t had any luck. Beverly climbed up into her king size poster bed and turned on the TV. She needed something to put her to sleep to get these thought out her head. She lay there watching reruns of good times before dozing off.
