This is a poem I wrote after my Mom died of Cancer
I can't show emotion
And it tears me up inside
I turn away from commotion
With a facade by which I can hide

Laughter hides all my pain
Keeping in all my sorrow
When will I be the same again
What will be brought in by tomorrow

I try to be so strong
For my family and friends
I hold tight, though my strength is gone
All alone is when my tears descend

How could this have happened
How could it possibly be
My mother has gone to heaven
And left, down on Earth, my family

It must have been her time
All along she must have known
She wanted us all together
So none of us would be left alone

She was so forgiving
So loving and caring too
Can she be no longer living
Or is she still with us, just anew

We always think of her
Mother, wife, friend and child
She is in our hearts forever
Especially that laugh and that smile

She taught us all she could
Important lessons of life
Mind your manners and to do good
Listen to these and lessen your strife

I love you all, she said
And with all that I have learned
Never will she seem to be dead
Into me my mother has been burned
