Not really a love story. More like a hate story...
CODE: M (set in the Manitou Island storyline)

TAKES PLACE DURING (specific story): NA

PAIRING: Ocryx/Ocryana (M/F)

EXPLANATION: An older scene; I believe this was written even before the creation of the character Tal Natha, the only son of Ocryx and Ocryana (while they love mating with each other, they hate each other's guts). Whatever the order this all happened in, this is how Tal Natha came about; in the story Manitou Island it's revealed that a mystical force known as Nathalit had a hand in convincing the two demons to get together this once. But you'd have to read the story for more on that...

DISCLAIMERS: Since this is older, some details have obviously changed. In this (original) version, the watcher is named Alexandre. In the serial, the watcher turned out to be bit-part character Antoine Pomiere. He even mentions to protagonist Charmian that he witnessed the act. Cue embarrassment on the part of Charmian. Hence, either there are TWO watchers, or I really need to edit this. >_<

The Lure

Alexandre hid behind a rock. The creature entering the cave was an Ocryx, a female judging by the size of its horns. He knew it must be the one the natives called Ocryana, and knew to stay hidden. The demon stalked past him and crouched in the back of the cave in what seemed to be a waiting posture. It didn't take Alexandre long to find out why.

A second Ocryx--this one male--entered the cave. He staggered a little, as if drunk or dizzy, and stopped more than once to shake his head. He passed Alexandre, and didn't even notice the female till he was practically in front of her. Then he stopped abruptly and snarled, his ears going back and his hackles rising. The female did the same, only without the same intensity; the two demons started circling each other with teeth bared, refusing to turn their backs. The male lashed out, snapping with his teeth; the female dodged him and kept circling. She seemed to be grinning.

If Alexandre hadn't known any better...he'd say it was almost as if she'd lured him in there.

The male Ocryx stumbled. The female surged forward, barely scoring his shoulder with her teeth. He bellowed, wings flaring, and swiped at her, missing again. She hopped behind him and tore a handful of feathers from his wing. He swung at her with his horns, screeching them against the wall. Alexandre winced at the grating sound.

The two again circled each other, occasionally snapping, the female still grinning. The male finally lunged and managed to sink his teeth into her shoulder. She roared and struggled to pull away. When she did they started snarling at each other, though both cautiously moving closer. Alexandre lifted his head a little to watch, puzzled that they should be approaching. They still snapped a bit, but not as harshly as before. Finally, when they were inches apart, they bared their teeth and bellowed in each other's face. Then it looked like they were trying to bite each other.

Alexandre watched them growling and snapping, wondering which one would gore the other first, when something odd happened. The female took a sudden step away from the male, turning her back. Alexandre froze. She was clearly open for attack now. Yet the male only paused as if startled before grabbing her shoulder in one paw, snarling in her ear. He had a clear shot at her back, but just pushed her down so she dropped to all fours.

He dropped down to kneel by her, still panting, his claws sinking into her shoulder. She snarled back, ears flat--but her snake tail moved, rising up and to the side--so she was bared to him.

Alexandre gaped, stupefied. She had lured him in. She wanted to mate.

The male Ocryx seemed to understand this too. He gave a low, guttural growl, moving up behind her and positioning his furry thighs on both sides of hers, mounting her with a push and a heavy animal grunt. The female jerked, hissing, but appeared to submit. The male sank his claws into her shoulders, holding her down and in place underneath him, bending over her with teeth bared and wings flaring; shifted his hips, and pushed again. They both hissed, the male panting thickly.

Alexandre crouched down further though he was sure they didn't notice him, as preoccupied as they were. He was awed. He'd never heard of two Ocryxes mating; usually they were mortal enemies. He supposed the female must have something important in mind to go to all the trouble of getting the male Ocryx to copulate with her. What her reason was, he had no idea.

The male demon was building up a rhythm now, thrusting slowly and heavily against the female, growling low with animal lust and obvious pleasure. The female hissed again, but not with anger; Alexandre saw the way that she arched her back to permit his further entry. As the male moved she rocked with him, both of their muscles relaxing and contracting in unison. She apparently got as much sensual enjoyment from it as he did.

She didn't appear to be as patient, though. For quite a long time--almost a half hour or so, by Alexandre's calculations--the male was content with his slow thrusting, obviously savoring the feel of being inside another Ocryx, if his bared teeth and slitted eyes were any indication. The female tolerated this for a while before beginning to look irritated; her ears flattened and she growled a little, but the male didn't appear to notice, still pushing slowly and heavily, his tail twining around her as if to pull and impale her further onto him. Finally she lifted her head and snarled back at him, moving away slightly. His eyes opened and he barked at her in anger, clawing her shoulders and forcing himself inside her. From now on his pushing sped up considerably, so that the two of them rocked rapidly with his thrusting, their heated, heavy growls and grunts filling the cave. The female arched her neck with a snarl. The male pushed at her, quickly, quickly, grunting thickly and loudly so Alexandre covered his ears. Their animal sounds only increased as they approached their ultimate release; on climax they both stiffened and shrieked howls at the air, their hips quivering as the male poured forth his seed, the female accepting it. Alexandre winced and kept his hands pressed to his ears till the echo died away. After it had he peered out again to see what they'd do next.

He should have guessed. After several moments they did what any animals would do. The male pinned the female down before she could get up and proceeded to mount and copulate with her again, ignoring her brief snarl of protest, this time heaving himself against her rapidly from the start, still fevered with lust and reeking of musk and spilled seed. Alexandre watched, amazed at their endurance, as within moments the male came again, and started thrusting again, grunting almost frenziedly, before the female could even catch her breath. In all the Ocryxes ended up coupling seven times in the space of two or so hours, before the female finally managed to drag herself out from underneath her panting, exhausted mate and crawl out and away from the cave, also panting and bleeding slightly from the frenetic activity, mission fulfilled.

Alexandre waited behind the rock till he was certain that the male Ocryx had fallen into a sound sleep before daring to leave, himself.

This item is not looking for critique. It was written solely for entertainment's sake. Although a scene from a possibly longer story, it is complete in itself and unless otherwise stated there is not going to be any more of it written. Additional unrelated SCENES may be written, but single scenes themselves are complete as they are. So please do not expect more. If you are interested in reading the series which INSPIRED the scene, just look elsewhere in my portfolio and you should find something. (Use the "story codes" given in the scene headers. For example, "MI" = "Manitou Island" series.)

I am not looking for critique on grammar, spelling, style, sentence structure, flow, or the mechanics of writing. What I AM interested in is commentary on such things as characterization, plot, symbolism, theme, etc.--the deeper aspects of the story. I like to know if a scene is believable, if the characters are interesting, what you thought of how they interacted, if the writing evoked any emotions, things such as that.

Feel free to criticize, but just keep in mind that I'm working on more important projects and shared this just for fun and/or to illustrate character interactions, so I don't plan to revise it any time soon. Comments on the characters, theme, etc. are more than welcome.
