The not so often enough loved shared by siblings.
"Please take me to the playground", little sister cries.
"I'm so bored, can't we compromise."

"I swear I'll behave", "I promise I'll be good",
"I'll really be sweet, like a little sister should."

"I've got five dollars", "I'ts yours for the taking",
"Don't leave me big brother, my poor heart is breaking."

On to the park, brother, basketball, and I,
What a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky.

Lots of children playing, running, jumping leaps and bounds,
I'ts nice when kids are happy, their minds feeling safe and sound.

Time now to leave, two hours of time spent,
little sister has been awesome, I'm actually glad that we went!

I love my little sister and I know it's reciprocated,
It's times spent like today that so much is appreciated.

Supper has been eaten, showers taken, time for bed,
Little sister is now fidgety with memories of playing in her head.

"Please read me a story", "I promise I'll go to sleep",
Big brother to the rescue, with story, The Shy Little Sheep.

Lights down low, snuggled close by my side,
my little sister is my friend, my joy, my pride.

As her eye lids grow heavy, a twitch of her nose,
Her soft little voice says "I love you", and off to sleep she goes.

I close the book, rise and turn off the light,
I say "I love you too", and tuck her in for the night.

I'm blessed with my little sister, my eyes filled with loving tears,
I will protect my sister forever, forever from any fears.
