Wrapping It Up For A Special Day

Gayal inspected her latest crystalline work of art.

“What do you give a boss like God for a gift? I hope he likes it!” she muttered.

She looked at it again.

“I should probably wrap it since it is a present. First, some splendiferous paper suitable for a baby. A golden stripe on azure, perfect!”

“Ribbon? An excellent combination of azure with a golden edge. There’s something missing! A bow that sparkles and glows. Assorted shades of gold with an azure sheen.”

“There, it’s ready.”

She trembled in her long white robe as she walked it to her appointment with the Lord Most High. It was all happening tonight and Gayal hoped her gift would take some part in it.

“Step up and stand in front of me, Angel Gayal. What have you there?” he asked softly.

“A gift for your son, the one to be born tonight,” she replied in a trembling voice.

With a light sweep of his hand, the wrappings fell away.

“It must take pride of place, be a beacon to all who see it!” With a lift of his arm, the star flew into the sky and began to glow.

“Thank you Gayal. It’s perfect to herald His birth,” God said and touched her forehead.

“Bear this mark of your contribution for all of heaven to see!”

Gayal returned to her cloud room. She gently felt her forehead. A small star could be felt. It seemed to glow ever so slightly.

“Perhaps the angel choir would welcome my help tonight. I certainly feel joyous enough!” she told herself.

When the time came, Gayal donned her shining white gown and melted into the angel choir as they travelled down to earthly skies for the birth of the Christ Child.
