friends and their men
What does this mean? Candace said as the fear of the unknown began to creep inside her. Christina smiled briefly before she said: “It just means that a new chapter begins.”
Candace looked at the glossy double wooden door in front of her, listening to the bells ringing from the distance. She stared back at her best friend.
“But what about you?”
Christina chuckled. “It’s not goodbye, Candy.”
Candace felt a lump in her throat. She felt sad. Today should be the happiest day of her life. But how can it be when Christina would be all alone.
“Don’t you cry, Candy! You are going to ruin your make-up! Besides, I am here with you! Just because you are going to get married doesn’t mean you are going to leave me behind. It just means that I will need to find myself the love of my life. So that we can do a double date one day!”
Candance laughed as Christina embraced her, a sense of hope diminishing her fear.
“Will you be, okay?”
“Of course, silly! As long as you are with me, I will be more than okay,” Christina assured her. She watched Candace adjust herself, preparing herself to walk down the aisle. Even though things would no longer be the same, like partying all night, Christina was happy to see her best friend walk towards the man of her dreams. And that was enough to know that things were going to be all right.
