Jolt has to put her party time on pause to deal with a demon trying to sneak in
“Aye Ricardo! My usual, please!” called Jolt, leaning back on the table with her blonde hair falling back onto it.

Soon enough a drink was slid across the bar towards her. Jolt caught it and picked up the glass, winking at him. Ricardo just shook his head with a chuckle. The night was only beginning, yet Jolt was already having the time of her life in the new sparkly party dress she’d gotten. Seriously, its like this thing was made of glitter! Looking around with her golden eyes, Jolt put the straw to her luscious lips and began scanning the area for anyone who looked to be up her alley. A few cute boys and girl here and there, but nobody she was particularly interested in. None of that fun tonight, then.

But damn, Scarlett’s club knew how to have a good time! Good selection of tracks – both new and old favourites – along with even greater drinks, and top notch security. Guards roamed the several floors looking for any sight of trouble, and they were always quick to act in case of emergency. Never in her wildest dreams did Jolt think she’d get to dance daily, nor did she ever imagine that she’d have a free pass to everything the finest establishments Hecate city had to offer. All in exchange for the niche little service that she provided the best.

The Devil’s Seraph sure was lively these days, and she had her fair share of monster hunting within the month. Quite a stressful job, to be certain, but her special powers made it easy to manage. Jolt stretched her left hand, holding the drink with her right. Electricity surged through her body and zapped lightly between her fingertips, making her smile and show off her pearly white teeth. Those monsters may be able to survive everything short of a fifty calibre, but as this job had taught her, nothing could survive a blast of lighting, nor a hefty dose of radiation. Sometimes if she was feeling particularly cruel to the mindless monsters, she’d shake them with sound so badly that they were paralysed on the floor, then surge electricity through their veins. It was quite fun to watch them pop, though the blood was an eyesore.

Jolt finished off her drink and started to approach the dance floor when a hand came onto her shoulder. One of the guards, who whispered something into her ear.

“Roof. We got a demon.” he said, making Jolt sigh and roll her eyes.

“Really? This early? Ughhh... fine, I’ll take care of it. Just keep the party rolling until I get back.” she said. The guard nodded, escorting her to one of the rear entrances.

As soon as the door closed behind her, Jolt stretched herself and pumped some power through her body, feeling the familiar buzz. Time to get to work! Once she was ready, Jolt leaped from the floor of the alley to the wall, and began to parkour her way all the way up the sides of the buildings around her. All that training she’d done coupled with the natural flexibility of her limbs made it incredibly easy to manoeuvre her way to the top. Her job description was as simple as protecting the building while the Scarlett Seraph was away, and while somewhat vexxing when she was called to do it, Jolt enjoyed the challenges that came with such an arduous task. Reaching the top without much issue, Jolt was quick to turn around and make a fancy bow to the unsuspecting creature. Of course such an action was worthless, but she was nothing if not eccentric. Nothing wrong with putting on a bit of a show! Using a whistle to get it’s attention, the demon turned to face her, a human corrupted with the powers of the Devil’s Seraph and their cronies.

“How nice of you to join me! Was just getting hungry.” they said. “And a lovely girl to boot... this is going to be a good night.”

“Sorry, you’re not my type.” said Jolt, flicking her hair back.

The demon was soon on the floor, unable to move from the intense vibrations going through its body. Jolt bent down to look them in their eyes, hers glowing an electric yellow with sparkles.

“Normally, I’d give your kind the options of how to die, but it seems you were a piece of shit before old Lucifer’s power went to your head. Lemme guess, rich boy who had mommy and daddy pay for it all? That’s their typical target. And you were rejected at the door, so you tried to get in through the top?”

“Screw you!” they spat at her, trying to get up and failing as Jolt kicked them across the jaw.

“Ooooh, I’m SO very scared of you and your foul mouth.” said Jolt mockingly, making frightened gestures with her hands. “But unfortunately for you, I’d much rather be downstairs at the party than up here in the cold. So uhhhh, bye!”

With that, all she had to do was raise her hand, intense arcs crackling between her fingertips before they jumped to the body of the screaming demon. His body convulsed and shook violently as his final roars of pain came out. Once she was done, Jolt became very thankful that Meysa had enchanted her new dress, ensuring it didn’t burst into flames from the voltage. She then heard clapping from behind her turned rapidly, finding Scarlett sitting on one of the ventilation units, her almost red ginger hair falling across the fancy suit and tie she always wore.

“Got back just in time to see the show. Don’t mind the stains.” she said, and Jolt noticed her fancy shoes and hands being soaked by blood.

“Well, least you can see me doing my job.” said Jolt, crossing her arms with a bit of a smirk.

“That I can. But, while we could sit up here talking all night, I want a bath and I take it you want to get back on the dance floor, so why don’t we go inside?”

“Couldn’t have said it better, Seraph.” nodded Jolt with a grin. “What about him though?”

“Oh, that? I’ll have some men take him down to Lyra.” said Scarlett, waving a dismissive hand.

Scarlett hopped down onto her feet and began walking for the door, hands in her coat pockets. Jolt followed, hoping Ricardo would have something stronger for her.
