A poem about a giant fish. |
In ocean's depths, where sunlight barely gleams, A leviathan swims, a titan of the streams. Scales like armor, plated, vast and old, A living legend, whispered, never told. Jonah would know, swallowed whole and cast, Into the belly, a fleeting, shadowed guest. Next to impossible, to fit within its maw, A creature older than the oldest law. Need a better story, than whale's gulping might, This beast a mystery, shrouded in fading light. No prophet's tale, no fisherman's boast, Can capture the power, the stories it holds most. Everyone watched, from shrimp to circling shark, As the giant fish, with silent grace, did park. A mountain moving, a shadow in the blue, A timeless being, forever old, forever new. So let the myths fade, the stories be untold, Of Jonah's belly, a creature bought and sold. For in the ocean's heart, a truth more grand resides, The giant fish, a wonder, where silence hides.
