Where can they be? They fled from the family! |
Twenty-three cows are missing! Where can they be? They ran away from the family. "I'll get 'em back," said my brother, sniffing. Dressed in his over-alls, He takes off down the road, Carrying quite an overload Of bails of hay from the stalls. Up and down the dirt roads he traveled With his 'moo-call' on his lips, And the megaphone in his grip. This mystery will be unraveled. No cows in sight, his heart grew heavy. Then all of a sudden, he whiffed the air. His eyes grew wide, and his nostrils flared. By golly, they were down by the levee! Whipping his truck right around, He followed his nose until he heard the sound. There they stood atop the mound Pretty as you please, holding their ground. He backed the truck up nice and slow, And let them inhale the premium hay. Then gently he started pulling away. The cows happily followed with gusto. Now they're back home as safe as can be. Their bellies are too full to try and flee. They wink at each other under the tree, The plan worked perfectly for the smart twenty-three. Something was up, the cows were kissing, Mooing softly and acting too sweet. Quickly I realized their deceit, A little too late, 'cause Twenty-three cows are missing!
