Weight loss tips from myself to myself |
Losing Weight Tips (6/20/2023) ***Tips from Myself to Myself***** Acquiring money is a trigger that can cause you to crave pizza. When you want pizza, it means you are hungry, so you should eat real food instead. Don’t mistake hunger as a reason to order pizza. Keep yams, broccoli and whole grain spaghetti noodles on hand. **** There isn’t much wiggle room when you’re on a diet. If you eat too many calories for too many days in a row, you can throw your diet off track for a week or more. Buy Fitcrunch bars and stay away from most junk foods, other than ice cream. Try to limit desserts for days you get paid and weekends. ***** Make sure you have whey protein powder or whey protein isolate on hand. Don’t allow yourself to run out. You can order it from Costco.com and have it shipped to you, or buy it from Walmart when you shop there. If you get it shipped from Costco, buy $75 worth of stuff to get free shipping. That might mean buying two containers at one time. ***** Try to exercise every day. When you’re at your sister’s house, walk the dogs either before breakfast when it isn’t hot yet, or in the early evening after it has cooled off. Use the 40 pound dumbbells and channel your desire to drink Gatorade Zeroes into inspiration to work out, even if all you’re doing is riding the stationary cycle in the backyard for 45 minutes. ***** Buy AAA batteries for your scale from Costco and have them shipped to your sister’s house. Shipping is free on batteries there. You should do this every summer. Daily weigh-ins will keep you motivated to remain on your diet. It’s better to pay around $20 for 40 batteries than to pay $10 for 5 or 6 of them. ***** Put whey protein powder, cinnamon, walnuts and water into your cooked oatmeal. During the times when I was at a low body weight, I was eating walnuts every day. ***** When you quit smoking cigarettes, you focused on death to motivate you. With dieting, it should be no different. If you know over eating will kill you at 75 and eating healthy will allow you to live to 100, then that should be your motivation to avoid bingeing. Don’t give in to ephemeral cravings, look at the big picture. ***** Another source of motivation is to consider that weight training is an investment in self defense in the event you ever get into a confrontation with someone. All those weight training sessions add up and make you unstoppable in a fight, while backsliding and bingeing on junk food softens you up and makes you ripe for being a victim. ***** If you get paid twice a month, put $36 (the price of your monthly gym membership dues) into the bank each payday. One payment will go to the gym, while the other will remain in the bank. By saving this money, you will have a buffer so you can buy things you may need to help you get fit, such as supplements and workout equipment. *** |
