America election choices
American writer’s cramp

America faces a choice
A choice of embracing democracy
At last a choice of standing up
Against the forces of neo-fascism
As the election season comes to an end
Although it is too close to tell
Americans will make the right choice

Nov 8 is election day in the US - so write your story or poem about the experience of someone who is voting in an election. Be creative - it can be a local, state, or federal election, or an election for class president or homecoming queen and king, or voting to discontinue Daylight Saving Time or create a new holiday celebrating butterflies, or ...?

Choose POLITICAL as one of your genres.

Pleiades Form

This poem has a title with a single word. The poem itself has seven lines. The first word in each line begins with the same letter as the title.

Example
Train
Ticket to a treasure-trove of memories
Traveling through a tapestry of scenery
Trudging and trundling over tough terrain
Tirelessly towing tourists and boxcars full of freight
Tooting horn in tunnels, tippy-toeing through sleepy towns
Tickling childhood fancy with a comfortable chug, chug
Think I can, think I can, the wheels sing round and round
