A family and their pets struggle to pull an enormous and very stubborn carrot. |
Thirty-eight year old Robert Thompson had spent the past few months growing carrots in his back garden and went to pull them up one afternoon when he was shocked to discover an absolutely enormous carrot sticking out of the ground. He said, "Oh my goodness, that thing is just so big, I'm going to pull it out first," as he then quickly grabbed onto the carrot's leaves and pulled and pulled with all his strength but the carrot just wouldn't budge. Robert said, "Wow, this is one stubborn carrot, I'm going to need some help and called out to his wife Mary, "Honey, could you please come out here, I need your help in the garden." Mary, who wore glasses, had beautiful long light blond hair and was wearing a short red dress with white polka dots and black tights heard her husband's call and put down her mixing bowl then took off her apron and came running as fast as she possibly could. She said, "Wow, that carrot is definitely very big and enormous, no wonder you couldn't get it out, I think it could feed the entire neighbourhood, I'll happily help you pull it out," as she quickly grabbed onto his waist while Robert pulled the carrot leaves and the two pulled and pulled with all their strength. The middle-aged man said, "Come on honey, put your back into it, pull it's an enormous and very stubborn carrot." The middle-aged blond replied, "I am putting my back into it honey, I can't pull any harder," as her husband then suddenly lost his grip and the couple tumbled backwards into a heap on the grass, covering the seat of her dress with mud. Mary wiped the mud off her dress and said, "This is definitely an extremely enormous and stubborn carrot, we need more help," and called out to their children, "Jason, Stephanie, put down your phones, turn off your video games and please come out here to the garden because we need your help." The two teenagers quickly did as they were told, came running out to the garden and was absolutely stunned by the size of the carrot as their mother said, "We need to get this carrot out, so Jason, you pull on my dress and Stephanie, you pull on your brother's belt. The two said," Sure mom, no problem, we'll happily help you pull it out," as Stephanie pulled her brother's belt, Jason pulled the hem of her mother's dress and Mary pulled her husband's waist and Robert pulled the carrot leaves. He said, "All right everyone, Heave," as the four pulled and pulled and pulled with all their strength. Stephanie nearly pulled down her brother's jeans while he nearly ripped his mom's dress but still their efforts proved to be in vain as the enormous carrot just simply refused to move a single inch. Stephanie said, "Wow, this carrot just simply doesn't want to come out, we need more help, Baxter, Baxter, please come here boy, we need your help." Baxter, the adorable but mischievous family pug came running out to the garden as the teenage girl gave him a treat and said, "There's more where that came from if you help us with this carrot." Baxter quickly ran over and grabbed onto the hem of Stephenie's short dark blue skirt, who said, "Please be careful, it's my favourite one," while she pulled her brother's belt, Jason pulled her mother's dress and Mary pulled her husband's waist and Robert pulled the carrot's leaves. He then said, "All right everyone, Heave," as everyone pulled and pulled as hard as they could, the dog heaved at his owner's skirt with all his might, who hoped that it wouldn't rip as it was her favourite skirt but unfortunately, it was still no good, the carrot remained as stuck as ever. Jason said, "Why won't this stupid carrot budge, we need more help, Lola, Lola, please come here, we need your help," as his white ragdoll cat quickly came running out to the garden. He then have her some tuna and said, "There's more where that came from if you help us get this enormous carrot out," as she then quickly grabbed onto Baxter's tail, who pulled Stephenie's skirt, she pulled her brother's belt, Jason pulled her mother's dress and Mary pulled her husband's waist and Robert pulled the carrot's leaves. The middle-aged man said, "All right everyone, remember to put your backs into it, now, Heave," as everyone pulled and pulled and pulled with all their strength. The carrot began to move slightly as Robert said, "Come on everyone, I think it's coming out," as they pulled and pulled even harder but unfortunately, the carrot remained stuck in the ground, refusing to come out. Mary said, "Robert, I think we should probably just gave up because this carrot just simply won't budge, we at least tried our best." Her husband said, "I think you're right Mary, I guess we'll just have to pull the other carrots instead." Just then, a tiny mouse ran over and grabbed onto Lola's tail as Mary said, "I think he wants to help us." Jason began laughing and said, "Come on mom, you really think that tiny mouse can help us." Stephanie said, " I think we should at least let him, dad, we don't have anything to lost at this point." Robert reluctantly said, "All right, he can help us try one more time," as he grabbed onto the carrot leaves again, Mary pulled her husband's waist while Jason rolled his eyes and grabbed onto the hem of his mom's dress, Stephanie pulled her brother's belt, Baxter pulled the hem of her skirt, Lola pulled Baxter's tail and the mouse pulled Lola's tail. The middle-aged man said, "All right everyone, Heave," as everyone pulled, tugged, and heaved as hard as they could. The enormous carrot began to move again and finally began to come out as Robert said, "Keep pulling everyone, we're nearly there" as everyone pulled and pulled even harder until, suddenly the epic tug of war ended as the carrot came flying out of the ground at last. Everyone tumbled backwards into a heap on the grass as the mouse quickly got out of the way. Everyone laughed and cheered as Robert said, "We did it, we pulled out the enormous carrot, thank you very much, everyone for helping me." Everyone then got back to their feet and then helped drag the carrot into the house where Mary and Stephanie cooked into carrot soup and carrot cake as everyone including the tiny mouse had dinner together. Robert said, "I think I'm going to grow turnips next year," as everyone then gave him a concerned look. He said, "Only joking," as everyone then began laughing and went back to eating. The family donated most of the carrot around the town to homeless shelters the next day, helping to feed those less fortunate than themselves. The End. |
