Because, commas, matter (Winner, Cramp!)
Grace, that cherubic little girl
She really loved to draw
She drew the sky, the trees, the fields
She drew everything she saw.

She drew the summer, she drew the spring
She drew the winter squall
And when the leaves dropped to the ground
Why, then Grace drew the Fall.

Now that was her best drawing yet
The leaves, in orange, red and yellow
Her father proudly had it framed
And when friends dropped in to say 'hello'

He'd show off his daughter's art
In its pride of place
"See the lovely picture titled
simply Fall, From Grace."

Fall, From Grace, she had penciled
When gifting it to her Dad
And every time he looked at it
Her parent felt so glad.

His friends, who visited
Shared his point of view
And they praised it in their turn
To everyone they knew.

Can you see what's coming?
Can you hear the gossip?
As word spread about this
From lip to lip to lip?

"What a bad Dad he is!"
Said each in their turn
"His child's fall from grace
should make his ears burn!"

The matter reached great heights
The mayor himself heard
And paid a house call on the family
To check on what he feared.

It was the mayor who put things right
'Fall' meant autumn, and 'Grace' her name
Her father, justifiably proud
The little girl happy in her new found fame!
