As another crow cries.
On a typical average Winnipeg day,
Many homeless I pass along my way.
In our city.
(In our city)
We live our lives.
Some run towards those in need,
While other succumb to devilish greed.
In our city.
(In our city)
Why can’t they see?
Money shouldn’t be used to define.
Life is a gift without compare.
Yet many lose their way.
Laying down in utter defeat,
Another lost soul living on our streets
Too many of us turn away.
Soon they become desperate,
Some learn how to take,
Some learn how to kill.
In our city.
(In our city)
As both the innocent and guilty die.
How many chalk or yellow tape lines,
Until we mend our self-serving ways?
In our city.
(In our city)
As another crow cries.
On a typical average Winnipeg day,
Many homeless I pass along my way.
In our city.
(In our city)
We live our lives.
Some run towards those in need,
While other succumb to devilish greed.
In our city.
(In our city)
(Pause)
Ask the question: What's it like in your city?
